Hotter than Hell. I tried the 100 mile route and did not succeed. Lesson learned, never eat eggs before a big ride. Especially NOT WITH SALSA!! What was I thinking? I got to the rest stop at mile 52 and was a hurting cowboy. If not for that, I think I would have finished. On the positive side, I was able to hang out with my son for several hours at the consumer show. And it's on Saturday that the best deals are to be found. Also, major props to the Bates, Steve and Pam, and Tom Bick. They set a very quick pace at the start and drug me along for about the 1st 15-20 miles.

You can see the way I rode slow until about mile 14. That's when I ditched the guys I came with and rode around White Rock Lake. The first stop was to wait for the my buds. The big stop after 10 mi was the potty break at the rest stop. The break in the time was revisiting the rest stop to wait for friends, and then I saw some other riders I knew after there and put up some FSG tempo ride numbers to the end.
We also saw snow flurries from about mile 9 to mile 22.
